Cadence controls smart TVs on your Wi-Fi โ Roku, Samsung, LG, Sony, Android TV, and Fire TV. It is not an infrared remote: because iPhones have no IR blaster, Cadence cannot control older TVs that only accept infrared. If your TV connects to Wi-Fi and you can stream on it, Cadence is very likely a match.
Cadence is a universal remote for your smart TV, right on your iPhone. It talks to your TV directly over your Wi-Fi network โ power, volume, navigation, playback, and on-screen text entry. Nothing about what you watch leaves your home network.
The most common fixes:
1. Same Wi-Fi network. Your iPhone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks and 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz splits can keep them apart โ put both on the same network.
2. TV powered on and awake. Some TVs stop responding to network commands in deep standby. Turn the TV on and try again.
3. Enable control by mobile apps. In your TV's settings, make sure network/mobile control is turned on (e.g. Roku: Settings โ System โ Advanced system settings โ Control by mobile apps โ Enabled; Samsung/LG/Sony/Android TV/Fire TV have similar "mobile app" or "network control" options).
4. Local Network permission. Cadence needs iOS Local Network access to find your TV. Check iOS Settings โ Cadence โ Local Network is on.
Honestly โ only if that TV connects to Wi-Fi. Cadence sends commands over your network, and iPhones do not have an infrared (IR) blaster, so Cadence cannot replace the IR remote of an older, non-smart TV. If your TV is a smart TV on Wi-Fi (Roku, Samsung, LG, Sony, Android TV, Fire TV), Cadence can control it even if the physical remote is lost or broken.
Cadence works with Wi-Fi smart TVs and streaming devices including Roku, Samsung, LG, Sony, Android TV, and Fire TV. Support depends on your TV's model, firmware, and network settings. Cadence is an independent app and is not affiliated with these manufacturers.
No. Cadence talks directly to your TV on your local network. There is no server that receives what you watch or which buttons you press, and Cadence has no account system. See the Privacy Policy for the full story.
Cadence Pro unlocks the premium features. You can choose Weekly at $2.99/week with a 3-day free trial, Annual at $19.99/year, or a one-time Lifetime unlock for $34.99. Prices may vary by region and are always shown before you confirm.
Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel, open Settings โ [your name] โ Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Cadence, and tap Cancel. If you cancel during the free trial you won't be charged. Refunds are also handled by Apple โ visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account to request one.
Open the Cadence Pro screen and tap Restore. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account, your Cadence Pro access will come back. Lifetime purchases and active subscriptions both restore.
Local Network access is required so Cadence can discover and reach your TV on your Wi-Fi. It is used only for that โ not to scan or report your other devices. You can revoke it any time in iOS Settings โ Cadence โ Local Network. If it's off, Cadence can't find or control your TV.
